Aftercare instructions

70% of color retention is based on how well you take care of your eyebrows after the cosmetic tattooing procedure. It is essential you follow these after-care instructions to ensure the best possible results.

Day of service

1-2 hours after service, wash your hands with soap and water. Take cool water and rinse brows. Take your fingertips and gently stroke the brows, head to tail, three times. Pat dry with clean paper towel. Use no product at this time.  Repeat rinsing once more, right before bed.

Days 1–10

You will wash your brows day and night for 10 days. First, thoroughly wash hands with soap and water. Next, pump one pump of foaming after soap onto fingertips. Apply the foam soap by gently stroking the brows, head to tail, three times. DO NOT SCRUB. Gently rinse brows with cool water. Leave no soap residue. Pat dry with a clean paper towel. Then take a Qtip and put a rice-grain sized amount of balm on brows morning, noon, and night.

Avoid the first 14 days

• Touching the tattooed area except as prescribed for after care
• Vigorous sweating
• Engaging in any athletics or sports
• Swimming, hot tubs, Jacuzzis, or saunas
• Sun tanning, tanning beds, spray tans
• Any laser, chemical treatments, or facial peels
• Creams containing RetinA or Glycolic Acid
• Smoking
• Spicy foods
• Performing debris producing cleaning tasks
• Heavy drinking
• Riding in open air vehicles like convertibles, motorcycles, bicycles

Things to remember

Avoid getting your new brows wet outside of washing them until ALL the flaking has stopped. This means keeping them dry in the shower. Also avoid taking steamy showers or baths until they are healed. When washing your brows, do it outside of the shower to avoid too much moisture saturation.

Day 42 (after perfecting session)

GORGEOUS!!! I love my brows!

Over the next few days, your eyebrows will appear very dark. This temporary effect is nothing to be alarmed about! The pigment’s color will gradually soften as it settles into the skin. Do not be alarmed if color comes off on a cotton swab when applying the after-care cream to your eyebrows. This is excess pigment and body fluid, and it will naturally seep from your skin the first 12 hours. Expect your brows to be at their very darkest 2-3 days after the procedure when your skin begins to form a dark, scab-like covering. Do not pick at it!

As your skin begins to heal, this protective scab will begin to lift and peel off naturally. This often gives the appearance of dandruff and/or dry skin in your brows. It may seem like your brows are drastically fading as dry skin and superficial color sheds, but don’t be alarmed! Your brows will start returning to full color around the three week mark.

Once your eyebrows have completely healed, apply a layer of sunscreen (SPF 30–SPF 50) on your eyebrows daily to maintain ink retention.
